In a continuing effort to better serve the Greater Atlanta communities, I will continue to provide a nourishing environment for the development of the educational, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs of young children. My school will work in harmony with the parents.
The aim is to develop students’ academic skills with an extra interest in fine arts and to elevate them to their fullest potential through courses that prepare them for various endeavors throughout life. Specifically, students will be trained in fine arts, language arts, health, math, music & movement, science, and social studies. In addition, First – Things 1st aims to provide the kind of experiences designed to bring students to their fullest potential through human interaction.
We will offer instruction in all phases of the elementary curriculum including health, math, reading, science, social studies, speaking, and writing. This provides a wide range of experiences.
The academy will begin on September 8th and end on May 21st. The Online services will be in collaboration with a few area businesses and individuals for virtual field trips as well as with other community stakeholders.
Students will have an opportunity to exhibit what they have learned during the regularly scheduled classes, as well as at the end-of-the-year celebration in May. It is also at this time where students will have an opportunity to put on a culminating performance.
In line with the mission of the institution, all of this will be done by getting the youths actively involved in all phases of the early childhood educational curriculum and exposing them to successful individuals, and working professionals, particularly minorities in this area.
The instruction is geared towards students in the early childhood age-bracket of Pre-K through 1st grade (four to seven-year olds .)
Students will log on to their digital device in the privacy of their own home and have a full-time teacher each day. In addition, parents may choose to turn their camera on (to make their child visible) or not during the one-and-a-half hour meetings. However, a teacher will be accessible for teaching and learning virtually by audio, visual, sharing, messaging, and conferencing for a full regular eight-hour day. The Online, Google, classroom is able to accommodate up to 20 students at one time.
